Frinton and Walton Fun Run

This year the TTC Fun Run is celebrating its 21st birthday. It was back in 1987 that the then Tendring High School PTA organised its first run, and the event has been held on the second Sunday in May ever since.

The Fun Run is the Tendring College Association's (TCA) principal fundraiser and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the school and other good causes. In the early days we helped WWASP (We Want A Swimming Pool) to achieve its aim of providing an indoor pool at Walton, and in later years CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) was a beneficiary.

In the last five years the event has attracted more than 800 runners annually, with a record number of 921 in 2006. Last year, when for the first time rain plagued the event, there was a slight dip in numbers, but for our 21st birthday it would be great to burst the 1,000 barrier for the first time.

Half Marathon, 5 mile and 2 mile
